What does the activity include? After a welcome briefing over tea and biscuits in the Control Tower you will take a hands-on flying lesson in an open cockpit Tiger Moth followed by a very different type of lesson as you take control of an armoured military vehicle on the driving range. Time then to sit back let someone else do the work and take it easy as you enjoy a pleasure flight over Cambridge in the De Havilland Rapide vintage biplane. As you land back at Duxford your tour guide awaits you for a guided tour of some of Duxford's private aircraft collection. The experience includes a souvenir photograph of the participant next to the Tiger Moth a print of the Dragon Rapide a Log Book; flight certificate and a buffet lunch. Where does the experience take place? Duxford in Cambridgeshire. What should I wear? Warm clothing suitable for the time of year. Airfields can be windy exposed places. How long should I allow for this experience? You should allow approximately 5 hours for the experience. When does the activity take place? Selected dates approximately twice a month from March to October. Are there any restrictions? No. What about the weather? If the activity is cancelled due to weather an alternative date will be offered to you. Can I bring spectators? Spectators are welcome but will need to pay to enter the airfield.
