Trial Microlight Lesson

What does the course include? The lesson begins with a thorough briefing on all aspects of microlight flying from your instructor. You will then take to the air for this fantastic experience. 'The open air' style of these aircraft lets you experience the true meaning of freedom. You can either sit back and enjoy the ride or take the controls for a more 'hands-on' experience. Your flight will last approximately 20-25 minutes. How about the weather? As with many air sports Microlighting is affected by the weather but to a lesser extent than most. Moderate winds and a minimum cloud base of 1000 feet are required for you experience. Please telephone the centre before starting out to check on the weather conditions. Should the weather prevent you from flying on the day of your experience an alternative time will be made available. What do I wear? Due to the nature of the open cockpit on a microlight is is advisable to wear warm clothing for you experience. Winter can be an excellent season for flying on those clear crisp sunny days. Are there any restrictions? The minimum age for microlighting is 10 with written parental consent between 10-17. Maximum weight limit 111kg / 250lb. Some microlight centres use a 'closed cockpit fixed wing' style of aircraft which are more stable in high winds but look more like a small plane.
